The Orca Cover Letter Contest is over and the winners have been determined. First place goes to Corey Ginsberg for her hilarious intro of three poems (to a journal that doesn’t publish poetry, of course), and her request for “…any monetary compensation/gift cards/stock options you may/should feel compelled to offer upon publication.”
Second place goes to Lisa K. Buchanan, whose fictional story about a gender fluid toothbrush, “Your Essential Throw-Away Lover,” sounds like a must-read.
In third place is Anne McGouran, who touched us with her letter addressed to Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, with his portrait included.
In addition to prize money (no stock options, though), the winning entries will be published in Orca’s third issue in February, 2020, along with selected finalists.
